In the fourth webinar of the Drug Research and Discovery series, we were honored to host Prof. Christopher Schofield, Professor of Chemistry and Head of Organic Chemistry at the University of Oxford for a session on Antimicrobial peptides and natural product chemistry with a focus on Penicillins. Prof. Schofield gave a presentation on how natural products could be studied as a potential source of new therapeutic agents and molecules. He exemplified this by sharing his experience and some of the great work that is going on at the University of Oxford. This is a potential lead for the development of novel therapeutics and improvement of existing ones counter Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR).
